What a fantastic weekend we had at Bangor which was hosted by Joe and Florence McClune. They are just back from a lengthy break in France and this was instantly evident by their relaxed manner and healthy tan. They were ably assisted by Martin and Winnie. Florence took entries whilst Joe expertly directed everyone to their parking spots. Not easy at this venue as the architect who designed the parking grounds seemed to have lost his set square. Friday night kicked off with a lively game of bingo organised by Joe and Florence There were plenty of laughs and a few lucky winners with Marissa winning two games, well done. Gary provided soft and melodious background music enabling everyone to chat and catch up on current affairs.
Saturday morning saw 13 members take part in a first aid training course run by Ken Patterson, who gave clear and practical instructions. Everyone who took part earned their certificates. Well done everyone. The Ramblers motorhome club must now be the safest club to be in. Meanwhile others took the opportunity to explore the retail units of Bangor city, some venturing further to visit the beautiful walled garden in Castle Park which looking stunning in the Autumn sunshine. Saturday evening, we were treated to live music by Dave Kane and it turned into a real party, the dance floor was never empty. The raffle was conducted by Joe and Florence ably assisted by another Florence, Carolan that is. (Wait for it at the end) The prizes which were generously donated by club members were won by lucky people from all around the tables.
Sunday morning brought everyone together for our coffee morning, unfortunately our regular speaker David was not able to attend as Bridget, his wife, had a small mishap and is recovering at home. Her injuries are non-life threatening so we will see them both in the very near future. Our host Joe took the mike and eloquently thanked everyone who helped. That is in fact everyone who participated in this event as it is a club and that is what matters. The quiz was won by George and Dianne Craig. (Should be on the chase) Our Vice Chairman, Joe Little now took over and after wishing Florence Little a very happy birthday brought us all up to date with club matters (Now you see what I mean it’s all Florence Joe Florence Joe Joe Florence) Unfortunately, Gary had to leave early as Yvonne's mum took unwell, we wish her a speedy recovery.
Hopefully we will see you all at Foyle College for our Halloween Party. Norman, Cynthia, Martin and Winnie are hosting so expect fireworks. Please bring fancy dress.
