Magherafelt Event May 2025

We were warmly greeted by Paul and Lesley Rixon to St Pious X College in Magherafelt. Thankfully it stayed dry while we all got parked up.

Friday night saw a lively version of deal or no deal, with numerous prizes being won. Norman then played the music whilst we all caught up with each other and as usual quite a few were persuaded to take a spin around the dance floor.

Saturday morning saw us head to the hall for our AGM where we elected our new committee. There was a members meeting immediately after the AGM with all business concluded in under an hour. This gave members ample opportunity to head into Magherafelt for some retail therapy and/or a bite to eat and a sup to drink. Our Saturday night entertainment was provided by Dave Kane who got us all up dancing the night away. A brief rest in the festivities to carry out the raffle gave us all a chance to recharge for even more dancing after the break. A great night was had by all.

Sunday morning we headed back to the hall for our usual Coffee morning. Lesley had obviously been busy leading up to the event with an array of baking on display for us all to try. David thanked the hosts for their work over the weekend and noted that they had also raised in excess of £100 for club funds from deal or no deal and sale of plants. Lindsey Coulter was wished a happy birthday and we welcomed our new member William Lynas to his first event with the Ramblers. We also welcomed Mark and Alex Little from Wales. David asked for notice of any new vans or news of any other celebrations, when none were raised he concluded the coffee morning by looking forward to seeing us all at our next event in Donaghadee and wished us all safe home.
